Mateja Klun
Member of the UNESCO Chair on Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction, University of Ljubljana.
Asist. dr. Mateja Klun is a research and teaching assistant at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering (UL FGG), Chair of Hydrology and Hydraulic Engineering, she is also a member of the UNESCO Chair on Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction at the UL FGG. She has obtained her master’s degree in environmental civil engineering and a PhD in the field of hydraulic structures, both at UL FGG. Her field of research are hydraulic structures and reservoirs, the condition monitoring of large dams and structural health monitoring, with the emphasis on numerical modelling and use of state-of-the art experimental and numerical methods. Her research work is conducted by the collaboration in the national research programme P2-180 and involvement in various market, European, and other research projects. For the research in the field of condition monitoring of dams she has also received a Young Engineers Forum award at ICOLD 2017. She is also a current Chair of the ICOLD Young Professionals Network, a Slovenian representative in ICOLD technical committees A (Computational aspects of analysis and design of dams), and ad hoc committee on Gender diversity and inclusion.
