Ákos Jakobi
Scientific secretary, UNESCO Chair in Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainability, University of Pannonia in Kőszeg
Dr. Ákos Jakobi is a senior researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Kőszeg and an associate professor at the Department of Regional Science at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, Hungary. He is the scientific secretary of the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainability at University of Pannonia Kőszeg Campus. He achieved his PhD in Geography and has a Habilitation degree from ELTE in the field of application of big data in spatial research. Currently he is the deputy director of the ELTE Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences and head of the Centre for Geographical Sciences. His professional work covers the study of social geography, regional science, regional development, regional analytical methods and geographical information systems (GIS), as well as the research of the geographical and network science approach of the information era. During his many years of association with the Institute of Advanced Studies, he has been primarily involved in the theoretical development and practical implementation of the KRAFT (Creative Cities Sustainable Regions) methodology.
